Salem Dogs

These needs can include dogs that may be more difficult to adopt due to age, medical condition, temperament, etc.  Our dogs often come from local shelters who contact us when they have such a dog.  We also deal with local veterinarians who refer dog owners to us.  Owned dogs often find themselves in need of a new home due to changes in the family's situation. We raise funds to care for these dogs and to find appropriate homes for them.  We have an adoption fee that rarely covers our expenses to rehabilitate the dog so we are always raising funds for this purpose.  The dogs are in private foster homes during their transition.  All dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to placement. Our operating expenses usually range from $25,000 to $30,000 per year.  Salem Dogs is a tax exempt organization and donations of goods, services, and funds are tax deductible.
